Construction Barrier

250 plus feet of barrier to measure, measure again, design and install

Contruction Barrier

I designed a base vinyl layer to span the barrier length and was applied first. Pop-off and dimensional elements were added after.

Construction Barrier

To create the large rocket pop-off shoe and bedazzled toe, extra MDF pieces were fabricated. Additional layers of vinyl were printed, pre-cut and installed over the layered MDF.

Constructioon Barrier

The WOW model (right) was a separate vinyl layer that installed directly onto the barrier wall and over the concrete jersey barrier.

Contruction Barrier

Making the WOW models approximately the size of an average person created an opportunity for selfies and interaction. Similarly, the Ocean Liners' passport also invited pedestrians to snap a pic.

Contruction Barrier

The Ocean Liners ship was the largest pop-off piece. It was cut from the tallest MDF sheet available. We had to install it in two pieces and layer the vinyl on top.

Construction Barrier

I layered two pieces of MDF to create the horror poster stack. Making Frankenstein a pop-off element, let visitors sneak behind his arms and have a camera ready moment.

Contruction Barrier

Since the XYZT exhibition would be immersive and interactive, mirror plexi was introduced to create a similar effect.

Contruction Barrier

Because of show restrictions, images were kept clean and simple. The clothes hanger and pop-off robe added a touch of whimsy.

Construction Barrier

The family programs section begins with PEM's guardian figures popping-out and watching down over pedestrians.

Construction Barrier

Renderings of the new building were positioned on the barrier in close proximity to its future location.

Construction Barrier

To allow visitors to see the construction in progress, we drilled through the MDF wall so visitors could peer behind.
